- Thanksgiving in Fort Wayne
The Rescue Mission fed 3,000 meals to those in need on Thursday. The shelter cooked 160 turkeys, went through 20 crates of mashed potatoes and 20 crates of green beans. The Thanksgiving meal was funded primarily through donations and prepared by volunteers.

Nearly 5,000 pounds of food will be prepared for the Rescue Mission’s Thanksgiving meal. Last year, the shelter served about 2,500 meals to the hungry and homeless.
