My name is Cynthia. I came to Charis House homeless, directionless and with no connection to God. I’d driven away most of my family and barely had custody of my daughter. I lived for the next fix or drink, and my life had become all about lying, stealing and escaping reality.
By implementing the principles I learned at Charis House, I became a new person. Today, I have my own home and a great job. I’m a good mother. I’m attending nursing school and growing in my faith, and take pride in being honest with friends and family.
Thank you to the staff, residents and donors who loved me when I could not love myself. You’ve guided me down a path to a better life. You’ve given me a second chance and a life worth living.
